Dubai World Central
Barely five years after its inception, DWC ascended into the list of the world’s top 20 international hubs by cargo volumes. The airport opened its doors to passengers in 2013 and is now served by five passenger airlines and 30 cargo airlines flying to more than 40 destinations. With the ongoing expansion projects, DWC’s annual passenger capacity will shift from 5 million passengers a year to five times its current capacity to accommodate to 26 million passengers. The airport will serve as the focal point for DWC, a purpose-built "airport city" located 23 miles outside of Dubai.
