A regional hub
Sharjah’s unique geographical position as the only emirate in the UAE to have coastlines on both the east and west of the country has strengthened the airport position as the country’s 3rd busiest airport for both regional and international destinations. In 2016, over 11 million passengers travelled through Sharjah International Airport, which represents an average of 10% increase vs. 2015. Sharjah is the home to Air Arabia, one of the MENA region’s first and largest carrier, flying to over 120 destinations in 33 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
