Bahrain International Airport, a new world-class facility

Opened on 28th January 2021, the 207,000 square meters terminal is one of the largest construction projects ever undertaken in the Gulf kingdom.

With a capacity of 14 million passengers a year, the airport will provide passengers with a unique world-class travel experience.

A growing traffic hub

Bahrain International Airport doubled 2021 traffic by reaching 6.9M passengers in 2022 and forecasts are promising for 2023, with 8.2M passengers.
 
With Q1 being the peak travel season for Bahrain, 2023 recorded a total of 4,098,582 passengers, +43.2% from the same period last year and marking a fast recovery of the visits in the country.

Key airlines

BIA is the home of Gulf Air, the national flag-carrier for the country, which operates more than 2,270 monthly flights to 60 destinations to 28 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. BIA is also a key link in the networks of 27 operating airlines.
 
Gulf Air welcome 2.8M passengers in Q1 2023, a spike of +39.7% compared to Q1 2022.
