JCDecaux, in collaboration with Dubai Airports and pioneering artist and researcher Sougwen Chung, is bringing a striking fusion of art and technology to Dubai International (DXB) in celebration of Art Dubai, the Middle East’s leading international art fair.
From 16 to 19 April, guests arriving at DXB will encounter a captivating visual experience at key JCDecaux locations in Terminals 1 and 3. The screens feature the work of Chung, a leading figure in human-machine collaboration and a featured artist in Art Dubai Digital – the only section of any major art fair to focus purely on artists working with cutting-edge-technologies, represented by Gazell.iO gallery.

This initiative transforms the world’s busiest international airport into an unexpected cultural space, inviting guests to engage with themes of innovation and imagination from the moment they arrive.
Chung’s series titled Body Machine (The Meridians) - The Forest Biome (2025), explores the evolving relationship between people and intelligent systems. Their distinctive approach merges traditional artistry with robotic precision, offering a glimpse into the creative potential of AI. At DXB, travellers aren’t just passing through; they are stepping into a living canvas of future-facing creativity.
The activation forms part of Dubai Airports’ and JCDecaux’s shared commitment to Bringing Art to DXB, a programme that introduces meaningful cultural experiences into the airport journey.
Alison Macdonald, VP Commercial Concessions at Dubai Airports said, “We’re pleased to partner with JCDecaux to showcase innovative, world-class artworks that excite and delight our global guests. The human-machine collaboration at the heart of Chung’s work speaks to Dubai’s spirit of creativity and innovation. It’s a fitting part of the warm welcome we extend at DXB.”
Bertrand Mouraille, Managing Director at JCDecaux Dubai, while emphasizing the significance of the collaboration between Dubai Airports and JCDecaux in executing groundbreaking campaigns, stated, "Through these creative & futuristic executions, we are able to not only enhance the passenger experience but also set new benchmarks in airport advertising. Our joint efforts continuously push the boundaries, ensuring DXB remains at the forefront of global aviation innovation.”
As the city hosts another edition of Art Dubai, DXB becomes more than a point of arrival. It becomes part of the story. This collaboration reflects a shared vision of transforming travel into a space for inspiration, connection and artistic expression.

"Body Machine" (Meridians) - The Forest Biome (2025) is a series of biomimetic robotic speculations by Sougwen Chung. The forms are sculpted in air, as part of the artist’s reimagining of machines as extensions of living systems. The concept of Meridian is woven throughout as both a planetary measurement and a path of the body. Through this dual meaning, Chung invites the viewer to reflect on bodies - bodies in motion, machinic forms, and earth’s biomes - exploring how the three might interweave.
