The iconic Boutique Sky Screens to be the first JCDecaux Middle East’s media asset supporting the deep motion technology, leaving a lasting impression on passengers

With a total surface of 300sqm, the four LED screens surrounding the control tower of the newest Bahrain International Airport are already making airport advertising history. With the power of Digital OOH, we wanted to make sure that advertisers and brands get the most out of such iconic screens, giving viewers an immersive visual experience.
Considering that advertising is a natural pioneer of technological breakthroughs, JCDecaux Bahrain is paving the way to the nascent “anamorphosis” technology at the airport, picking up what is now an increasingly global trend in the OOH advertising. The deep motion digital 3D, or anamorphic video, works on a “forced-perspective”, a technique that combines two different footages in one, creating a 3-dimensional illusion when seen from a certain angle.

The impact is guaranteed

The Boutique Sky Screens stand tall at the heart of the duty free and are clear from any obstructions, granting a 360-visibility and a minimum of 1,440 daily impressions. The supersized LEDs can be seen while queuing at the passport control area, shopping at one of the many retails or waiting at the boarding gates. Also, arriving passengers can see the screens while heading to the exit. Moreover, the asset doubles the illusion – and the reach – as it displays the ad on the two opposite corners making it visible from two “forced angles” at the duty free and at the boarding gates. This will attract more viewers to the screens.
However, a memorable creative ad is what it really takes to retain passengers’ attention. Viewers expect creative advertising experiences to feel more engaged and entertained, especially on a high dwell time environment such as the airport. The 3D technology is a new immersive way for brands to reach out and communicate with their customers, making them feel excited about a new product or service.
Brands can leave their audience in awe in front of such majestic and innovative visuals and convert curiosity and excitement into a successful brand awareness or drive-to-web strategy. But it also prompts viewers to share ads on their social media channels. A study conducted by Nielsen has shown that “OOH advertising can secure more social activations by a factor of four per every ad dollar spent”. Videos of campaigns can go quickly viral and generate buzz around the brand, which is also linked to a more positive brand’s perception, multiplying reach and revenue.

The OOH advertising future is here, at Bahrain International Airport. Let’s build it together.
